Council District 12: 12th Council District incumbent Larry Seabrook issued a press release thanking his supporters on Thursday, September 17, two days after the Democratic primary. Seabrook singled out former Mayor David Dinkins, The New York Amsterdam News and a bloc of labor unions, including DC37 and the United Federation of Teachers.

Council District 16: Bye bye Baez. Fernando Cabrera upset 14th Council District incumbent Maria Baez in the Democratic primary on Tuesday, September 15, or so it appeared as of 11 p.m. at Maestro’s Caterers on Bronxdale Avenue, where Cabrera addressed an excited crowd.

Council District 18: Annabel Palma is safe - unopposed by any Democrat in her bid for re-election to the City Council. The Parkchester pol will stroll to victory in the 18th Council District primary on September 15. Not all her fellow incumbents are so lucky, however.
